2015 brings our 11th Gibson Street Gala and we hope to emulate the tremendous success of 2014 (but fingers crossed with better weather!). Whatever the weather this year, there will be a myriad of great experiences on offer at this popular community celebration.
The Gibson Street Gala is now a well established and integral part of the West End Festival. As usual we aim to please with great live music, stalls, children’s entertainment, art & design. Closing the road to traffic for one afternoon each year brings a very special family friendly feel to this popular neighbourhood.
Volunteer organisers work hard over a number of months to raise funds in order to have a great Gala day. These fundraising endeavours make it possible to offer, for example, free activities and free entertainment for children.
Alongside these free childrens' events, the Gala has live music on both Gibson Street itself and in GOW Backcourt. ArtFusion run stalls all along Westbank Quadrant and trader stalls are on the Eldon Street Bridge.
St.Silas Church and the local school get involved, laying on events and activities. A community stage also features where locals, young and old, can showcase their talents.
