Sensory Materials - an LGBT Tea Party in Glasgow

Tom Marshman leads an afternoon session for local lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) people of all ages. However, age will be celebrated. This event is part workshop, part talking shop, part history lesson and part gossip-over-the-fence shop.

Tom is asking local people to dig into their personal archive and show materials that evoke potent memories for them. So, this might be the space to share the scent of an aftershave that stirs memories, the song that takes you back to that night or the film that you hold close to your queer chest. Come and share your stories...

Tom is a gay performance artist who transforms everyday accounts into theatre by weaving together stories well worth telling. Having previously shown his highly acclaimed show Move Over Darling in Bristol and Luton he is now collecting stories from other cities.

Tom’s been called ‘the memory man’, and he wants to welcome you to his tea party, with a suitcase of memories, his and yours. There’ll be chat, performance and stories to tell.
